✔ WHAT TO DO IN MURCIA
Murcia is a region still unknown to many. We know little about it, other than that it's the vegetable garden of Europe and that its main attractions include its coastline, the Costa Cálida. But it's not all overdeveloped areas; it also boasts wild beaches and secluded coves where you can relax and contemplate its natural beauty. This coastline contrasts sharply with the inland towns, some historic and others nestled in majestic valleys.
🌮 YOU CAN'T LEAVE MURCIA WITHOUT TRYING IT
The blend of cultures that has existed throughout the years in the Region of Murcia is not only reflected in its heritage but also in its cuisine. Local produce such as rice, fruits, vegetables, and seafood reigns supreme. Even so, other delicacies like farm-raised meats and game, or sausages like morcón, are also well-known. Murcian gastronomy preserves essential traditional recipes such as olla gitana (a gypsy stew), cocido con pelotas (a stew with meatballs), Segureño lamb roasted in the oven, and gachasmigas (a type of breadcrumb dish). For dessert, order some paparajotes (a type of fritter).
👁🗨 CURIOSITIES OF MURCIA
You've probably heard of Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro, recognized as one of the Seven Wonders of the World. While it's the most visited statue of Christ, other cities boast similar sculptures. In the town of Monteagudo, just 5 km from Murcia, you can find the Christ of Monteagudo perched atop a hill. Even King Alfonso X the Wise himself resided in the castle located at the foot of the Christ of Monteagudo!
